I don’t know about elsewhere, but here in my town, if someone makes grafitti on an underpass, or bridge, etc…the city comes along and slathers some sort of “cement-colored-paste” over it to cover it up.
IMHO, this “remedy” the city uses, is ten times more unsightly than the grafitti ever was to begin with! I have mentioned this to other people I know locally, and they agree with me.
What the hell is the city maintenance thinking? Are they just lazy, cheap, all the above?
All they really need to do to get rid of the grafitti is a quick blast with a high psi pressure washer or a sandblaster and it’s back to plain clean wall. But Noooooo, they make it uglier and uglier and uglier with their godforsaken “patching.”
Does your city do this heinous act, and do you find it MORE unappealing than graffiti? Personally, I find about 75% or more of most grafitti entertaining to view. Ghastly grey sloppy patches, however, turn my stomach.
