I am trying to find someone who can take two different fruit trees and graft them into one tree for me. When I was growing up we had a tree that produced peaches on one side and plums on the other. I would really like to have another tree like that and it doesn’t matter which fruit it is. I’ve called three county extension offices around here as well as local tree nurseries and feed supplies. No one has been able to help so far.
So does anyone out there know something about this or know someone who does. I’d appreciate any info at all.

That is one cool tree but I had to laugh. You see I have 3 little boys and I am going to grow this tree (the one tree made from two trees) as an object lesson that shows how important it is to find the right spouse in life. You know the whole two becoming one and all that and explain how devastating it would be to separate them after that so YOU BETTER NOT BE MARRYING NO HUSSY! I think a tree made from six different ones would be a little mind blowing in that regard.

Those are such neat trees. I remember reading about them. Didn’t only one guy know how to manipulate them that way and then the secret died with him?

I wouldn’t dream of doing it myself. My thumb isn’t green at all, it’s brown and crispy. Besides that kinda grafting is different than what I need.
Sue – thanks for that link. I’d read about the guy who did those in this book, which was what I thought of when I first read the thread title. Next time I’m in California…
Copper_moon – Okay, I’m guessing that you’re not a Mormon.
