Gran Turismo 3 is, by far, the best racing game that has ever been released. I fell in love with it when my flatmate bought a Playstation 2 and a very large flatscreen tv.
I just love it. The fact that I can speed around a track at over 300 kilometres an hour and not kill myself. (or anyone else) is great. I play it whenever I have free time, and I tell you it’s killing my social life, but I don’t care! I spent 3 days racing to save up for an Esparante (at 2 million credits a pop, the bastards don’t come cheap.) and am so happy that I did. I think it is by far the best car in the game.
I know I should probably go out sometimes, and maybe occasionally spend time with my boyfriend, but I’m hooked! I can’t help it.
Yup… so far GT3 has taken the cake. But there are a couple of really great looking ones coming out… I’m anxious to see the next generation.
FWIW, I was never a big fan of the Esperante. I always considered the challenge to be buying a little nothing car and tweaking it just right to get maximum performance. I won the 100 on the loop (can’t remember the name) with an RSX. Got my first F-1 race car for that race too.
You have not lost your GT virginity until you win the endurance races. I recommend playing your stereo instead of listening to the game music, and driving in shifts with a buddy.
You can do the Super Speedway one in 45 minutes with a Pikes Peak Escudo, but I’d go with the roadster endurance. All you need is a Mazda Miata and an A license, and you can win a lot of money and a really sweet car. A HUGE help early on in the gane–GT games usually start out slow until you have enough money to buy whatever cars you want.
