Graphic Novels

Hey Danila P…

I almost agree with you. Frank Miller’s Dark Knight is the second best graphic novel.

His book Ronin is the best. I’ve read it about six times, and I always find something new in it. It’s a mix of feudal Japanese myth and cyber punk.

I agree that Sandman is really good, too. so is Kingdom Come and The Watchmen.

My current favorite are the collected Preacher books. I LOVE that title, but be warned, Bunnygirl, it has a LOT of religous controversy, as well as an Irish vampire. Oh yeah, and some perverted rednecks, too

You say “cheesy” like that’s a BAD thing.

V for Vendetta is excellent, Usagi Yojimbo is also great. Sandman is more than just a set of stories, it is a set of stories that about the telling of stories. The number of levels in the series is incredible. The Watchmen is very good, (I prefer V) remember my ex-rlso once claimed you could do a masters thesis on it fairly easily. I’ll add to this, Appleseed by shirow, is excellently don’t futuristic work. 2001 nights is also a good SF series.

Hi! This is my first post, so here goes nothing…
Usagi Yojimbo is my personal favorite comic book, so I may be a bit biased…but it is GREAT! I love it, and have read it for years. Its not only entertaining, but also sometimes educational.
Other good graphic novels? Well, most of the favorites have been mentioned before. And I would agree, Maus (I have the set) is not exactly a ‘comic’ book. Heavy stuff. And I almost managed to make it into my history project too…
