The sunflower thing is a big thing for me too. they are cheap as well. It also very important to realize that sleep doesn’t catch up. You can’t make up lost hours. It is a good idea to play computer games and peruse the web for intresting sites. There are millions out there. A lot of them are really weird/amusing. I also find that if you are warm you will fall asleep quicker. Don’t wear big sweaters or bring blankets (like I do Sunday mornings at work)
For several years I worked a rotaing shift, so a 1/4 of the time I did the graveyard. It was operating boilers for a major governmental entity called the United States. What kept me awake basically was the TV.Running a boiler on gas or oil meant you were there to monitor the boilers in case something went wrong. Ch. 13 out of Savannah,GA used to have classic films wth James Cagney,Dennis Morgan, Joe E.Brown,Errol Flynn,et.al. Thanks for culture!Next, I went to a place where we burned coal. Then the answer to the question is WORK! Nothing better to keep one awake than that.My problem working either type graveyard shift was not how to keep awake,it was how to get to sleep,or enough of it to wake up in time to get to the next shift, tomorrow.
