No Irish flute yet, (drat it all). Plus I’d want to keep it anyway. I really do want a mandocello as my large hands just won’t fit on a mandolin. (Got a price?)
So glad that we agree about the Cobra. Standing still, the car is more sexy than most others doing 100 MPH. Only the Viper or the Testarossa come remotely close to having some classic lines among all of the modern designs.
PS: Instrument thieves will rot in Hell, fear not.
I dunno, just the name of it sounds pretty painful Mr. B.
Wow. My stuff seems pretty insignificant in comparison to others treasures here, but I will try to throw mine into the fray:
I am “trying” to collect old computers (I will explain “trying” at the end of my post). I have an old C64 complete with monitor and DD. I also have a couple of Commodore Plus 4’s in original boxes, and a Commodore 16 in its original box. I am especially proud of that one as you could mistake it for new. I also have a old TRS80 color computer, and a Coleco Adam. The one item I am trying to recover for my old C64 is a “Spartan” Apple 2 emulator that plugged into the back of it that effectively turned your 64 into an apple. I had one as a kid, and sold it. I am the only person that I know of that actually owned one. If anyone else has some old computer stuff that they would like to let go of, drop me a message!
I collect old video game machines…this is also a bit for profit as there is a market for these. I have new in boxes about 6 Atari Jaguars and Nintendo Virtual Boys. I also have a Turbo Grafx and Intellivision. The not so old ones include (new as well) A Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64 (duh) and PSX. My PS2 is a daily player.
I collect some old currency. I especially like old German items from Pre 45. I have a bunch of mint consecutive 10 mark notes from about 1920 and many various other denominations. The artwork on several of them is just beautiful. I also have a bunch of Thousand and Million Mark notes from the inflation time. I also have some Mark notes from the war. I also like Canadian Currency. I have several of the Canadian Mint coin proof sets as well as several $1 and $2 dollar uncut sheets before they were discountinued. I also like Silver Canadian Maple Leafs (sp?).
I started a bit of collecting some Star Wars things from this last movie…I have 4 (I think?) Darth Maul figures that are not getting taken out of their packaging. I will see what they are worth in 20 years or so.
I have a rather extensive collection of East German army/airforce/police uniforms. They are complete and brand new for the most part.
I have a “small” collection of Nazi (no I am not one) militaria. I am especially proud of my SS Black officers cap w/braided alum chin strap and Black dress helmet. Both look extremely good considering their age…I have never seen a nicer cap.
I have a fairly extensive collection of computer games, especially flight sims. I am a true pack rat with computer games and never, ever throw away anything including the box. I have an regular 8ft bedroom closet full of them right to the ceiling.
I will now explain my word “trying” from the top. My wife is doing her best to cease the increasing of any of my collections. She is especially extremely happy when I “sell” some of my items. This is especially true of any of the electronic items or militaria items. I can still collect the currency without much fear of reprisial!
I collect posters from the underground art of “Propaganda”.
Some I made, some my friends, some I have gotten from guys who made them as far as Maine and Vermont (I live in Los Angeles). I send some of mine, they send some of theirs. It’s great, cheap trading. They are all huge too. A little bit bigger than movie posters, but the quality isn’t all that great since they are made using the thin paper of black and white blueprint machines.
