What do you collect?

So, do you collect anything? Old standards like stamps, coins, or comic books? Or maybe something a little more hig brow like wine? or first editions? Or maybe it is something obtuse like left-handed scissors? Or images of the Dali Lama made out of food products?

I collect…
Hockey Pucks (no autographs on them, please) - I have all the NHL teams standard pucks, college and minor leagues and then specialty pucks, like from all-star games, the inaugural season of the University of Nebraska - Omaha, a puck commemerotaing the 1997(?) Portland Winter Hawks Championsip, etc. Unfortunately that is the only Junior Hockey puck I own, haven’t been able to track down more.

Guinness Crap - No real rhyme or reason, Framed toucan advertising poster, “Mad Hatter” hat, deck of cards, corgi replica Guinness truck, small hardcover book titled “Guinness Dublin” from 1935 (1st ed.), various and sundry glasses and pens and shirts. I just kinda started this collection, what I really want is the Carltonware ceramic flying toucans…someday…

Rubber duckies.

Music boxes–I have over 30.
Sugar wrappers–Well over 1500.

Agates. I have about 25 lbs of agates I’ve polished.

Beers from every country I travel to. :::shamelessly dancing with 100:::

Penthouse magazines from foreign countries. Don’t ask how it started but I got em from 6 different countries

Wolves. Not actual breathing ones, but wolf related stuff. But only if it’s really cool.

Kermit the Frog. Ever since I got tanked at a karaoke bar and found out I can sing just like Kermit, it’s been pouring in.

Van Gogh. I love Van Gogh’s work.

Daisy Duck. Don’t ask, long story.

And looking at my list, I think I need to go take my medication now.

Masks. Particularly African and Pacific Islander, though I have them from about 25 different countries. They hang all over the walls - one of my friends won’t come in because she can’t take the feeling of being stared at.

I have a bunch of agates too, but my main collection is model horses. I wish they were real horses, but since I live in town and have to board I can only afford one. But with model horses, I can have 200! They don’t eat or poop. I can have all the different breeds in all the different colors.

Human heads.

What?! I’m an ogre, for Pete’s sake!

I used to collect all kinds of stuff…I think I’m in purge mode now.

I collect really odd things. I’m thinking about adding
this. What do you think, will it go with lightining rod and ozone generator?

I collect comics and comic strips, but my favourites have a tendency to be cancelled. While it’s not my favourite, Spawn is the series I’ve been collecting the longest.

Dust of course.

I have a lot of wolf items as well. My prized wolf item is an artist signed print of a wolf done in charcoal framed with old barn wood.

The other would be snowmen, women and children. I find the snow people to be friendly and bring a smile to my face. I don’t use them as a Christmas symbol anymore and have them out year round now. They’re too cute to hide in a box for 11 months.

Monkees stuff.

I’ve got the first 4 albums and about 6 45’s. I’ve also got the sheet music from “She”, “I’m A Believer”, and “Mary, Mary”. And I have the hand puppet that comes with a voice box, but the voice box is broken.

Hmmm, I also have the Thermos (US version), a few paperbacks, a tour book, a few magazines, and a few of the Monkees comic books.

I think that’s about it.

No major surprise here, but I collect Disney cartoons. I have a library of about 100 tapes downstairs each with anywhere from 3 to 15 cartoons each. I’ve got quite a few that have never been released on video and have even come across some of the later shorts in their original Cinemascope format.

Oh, and I also have the Columbia House set of all of the episodes, as well as Head and their funky TV special.

Crap, I also have a ViewMaster reel set.

<thinking really hard>

Yep, that’s it.

It’d be nice if I could collect more interest, or $200 for passing GO.

Old video game consoles and home computers. I have a pretty good collection. Some are about 10 years old and brand new in the box, never opened.

I also collect plastic models of military aircraft. 1/48th scale where possible, and where it isn’t possible I go to 1/72nd (like the big bombers and such… but I do own a 1/48th B-1B model I haven’t built yet – thats BIG)
