Mrs. Blather is going to be marketing some knitting products and we are looking for stores to contact to see if they’ll carry them. What are the really good knitting stores in your area? We know the Seattle and Portland area, but have no idea what the hot stores are in places like Chicago, Boston, etc.
The only really good knitting store I know of, though it isn’t exactly in my area, is Cass Street Depot. It’s easy to google. They carry a lot of conservative sort of stuff–Rowan, Jamieson & Smith, Mission Falls, etc. and a little bit of glitzy and handpaints, too.
What exactly is she planning on selling?
Patterns (to start). I don’t want to be too specific, to avoid violating SDMB usage rules.

Go to the coffeeshop at knitty.com
They have all the LYS references from real people and it is an excellent jump off point for all things knitting.
Good luck!

One of the all time great knitting stores is Romni Wools in Ontario.
Thanks all.
Atlanta area: Why Knot Knit or Knitch. They’re both pretty popular now.
