Great, Now What Do I Do About Cable?

For all of my life (if you don’t count college, where it came with the dorm) I’ve never had cable. With the reception of the house’s antenna getting worse and football season coming up I finally decided to get some sort of cable. Comcast was out right away so that left me with satellite, either DirecTV or Dish Network. After looking at the pricing and the packages, I decided to go with Dish. They install tomorrow. I was happy. And then this ruling came down. I guess I’m sure that EchoStar will come up with some sort of deal because they’d risk pissing off all their customers but now I’m considering bailing. At least I’ve got the 30-day moneyback guarantee protecting me if I decide to bail. But dang it, I decided not to go with DirecTV because I’d have to pay a lot more for the same service and I refuse to deal with Comcast. I’d hate to spend another season watching football with a lousy picture and sometimes bad sound.

If you are worried about the upcoming football season then you should have gone with DirectTV. NFL Sunday ticket is not available on Dish Network.

However, I will drop Dish Network if my DVRs become unusable. They are already screwing me out of a couple of HD channels because of the age of my HD receiver.
