Atheists and Catholics have posted dueling billboards in New York City, creating a metaphysical face-off near the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel. One, put up by the group American Atheists, proclaims that Christmas is a “myth.” The other, posted by the Catholic League in response, urges commuters: “You know it’s real. This season, celebrate Jesus.”

We’re going through a BBQ-sauce-slathered versionof this in my neck of the woods. An atheist group (Coalition of Reason) bought some bus ads that say “Millions of Americans are good without God” - not a sentiment I’d think would be all that super-insulting IMHbutatheistO - and local Christians are already throwing around threats of boycotts. Someone on the morning news was quoted as saying this was a sign of the end.

Really? I’m as OK about not worshipping Jesus as you are about not worshipping Zeus, and that’s supposed to be the final horseman of the apocalypse?
