I’m not sure if this counts because there aren’t lyrics, but hear me out. The Hawaii 5O theme for the remake. The remake was ridiculous. I vaguely remember the original series. I hope the theme song did the original series justice.
Was the show any good? I have no idea. But you can’t beat the theme song.
I was always a sucker for the 60s shows that had bouncy themes with expository material built into them. Gilligan’s Island was a prime example, but I also liked the themes from Captain Nice, Mr. Terrific, and The Double Life of Henry Phyfe.
Of course, now that I think about it, at least half of those shows from the 60s told you everything you needed to know about the show before we heard a word of dialogue.
SWAT was what Ted Baxter wanted to watch while at one of Mary’s parties on MTM. 'Nuff said.
At least Kono was a dude in the original, and not some hot babe.
