Greatest Chicago-based movies of all time

Oooh, the rest are there too. Search Cupid Pilot on YouTube.

I am so grinning right now. [/hijack]

If we’re going to talk TV, nothing can touch The Bob Newhart Show.

Of all the overrated movies that ever won best picture, *Ordinary People *is the overratedest.

Short lived? The show was on for three or four seasons (three in the US, four in Canadia, the last two combined into the third US season).

So, who’s your favorite Ray?

Oh, and ETA: Did you know that Paul Gross, the guy who played the Mountie and produced the last two seasons of the show, is making a movie about Canadian soldiers fighting in WWI? It’s called Passchendaele, it looks awesome.

oy, ETA again: Also, the show is on DVD on Amazon, for around $15 or $20 a season.

Marciano, the original, definitely. He and Gross had a chemistry that wasn’t quite there with the 2nd Ray. Not to me anyway.

Edit to add, thanks for the tip about Passchendaele!

Yeah, the chemistry was better between Fraser and RayV, but that kinda worked since a big point with RayK was that he wasn’t RayV, but RayK on his own was more likable to me.

Then again, I don’t think RayK got any episodes like The Deal (the first one with Zucco, the mobster trying to have a shoemaker killed)

Ordinary People was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.

The year Out of Africa beat The Color Purple was the greatest crime in Academy Awards history.
