John Carpenter’s The Thing was, well, chilling.
I would pay to see this movie, if it existed.
Is that a 1982 trailer or one for a re-airing of it later?
That’s the original trailer, I’m certain. I think only the rating was tagged onto the front of it.
Opening the trailer with the desperate radio message from Windows and closing it with radio static is pretty cool, I think. Lends the whole thing a very creepy vibe.
The trailer for Twister (1996) was groundbreaking in that it was, I think, the first one to do that bit where you think it’s over, but then suddenly it flashes on again for a second or two to show a large piece of debris hurtling at the camera. Seems like I started seeing that used a lot afterward.
I have no idea if the movie will be as good as the trailer but I love this trailer:
