A few that come to my mind…
Elvis Prestley,
Al Joelson,
Harry Houdini.
What say you?

Ya GOOF!!
Victor Borge
He could get away with anything on stage. Audiences let him tell jokes that were too stupid for kindergarteners, and liked them! This was because he was,
Steve Martin
Look at his act from the 70’s and you’ll see what a range of talents he drew from. His show included characters, magic, juggling, balloon animals, and banjo playing (OK, I realize many people would say the last two shouldn’t count, but I thought it was way cool!).
James Whitmore
Watch “Give 'Em Hell Harry”. 'Nuff said.
Liberace
That a guy that flamboyant could succeed when he did was amazing. Very ahead of his time.
Frank Sinatra
I’m not a fan, but must admit his influence is huge.
George Carlin
One of the most consistently funny people ever. From suit to hippy, to cranky old fart, he’s always been relevant and made us think.
Bill Hicks
Leo Kottke.
I’ve been a fan of his for a long time. He’s relatively obscure and maybe his music doesn’t have universal appeal (you tone-deaf, rhythm-impaired provincials!) but he puts on a terrific show. Check his website for upcoming tour dates.
You may very well have picked the top 3, for the 20th century, anyway. Minor quibble - it’s Al Jolson.
Charlie Chaplin, maybe?
In terms of acts that I have personally seen,
Jerry Lewis.
Based entirely on his live stage shows:
Neil Diamond.
I have NEVER seen so many people of such diverse ages having such a good time!
I dunno about all-time , but my list of the best (as opposed to most popular) solo entertainers of the 20th century would include:[ul][li]Will Rogers[/li][li]Buster Keaton[/li][li]Houdini[/li][li]Elvis[/li][li]Steve Martin[/li][li]Bob Dylan[/li][li]Robert Johnson[/li][li]Hank Williams[/li][li]Louis Armstrong[/li][li]Bob Hope[/ul][/li]
Solo performers who don’t make my cut include Frank Sinatra (product of a hype machine; overrated as a singer); Charlie Chaplin (funny, but not that funny; also over-hyped); Chuck Berry (highly influential, but a sloppy live performer); Jerry Lee Lewis (the best live rock performer in his prime, but he shot his career in the foot); Al Jolson (can’t get past the blackface); Jimmie Rodgers (who deserves a mention here, at least); Prince (ditto).
