Just this morning on the TODAY show, it was related how a lawyer is suing fast food chains on behalf of his client, who is now severely obese. The clients claim is that because of “unending and persuasive” advertising, he was brainwashed into eating big macs, french fries, and gallons of soda pop, instead of healthful food. Therefore, Micky D’s owes him for the loss of his health, his bad medical condition, pain and suffering, shortened life, etc., ad nauseum!
It started with tobacco…now fast food! I guess nobody is responsible for anything…you are ALWAYS a victim! I wonder what this lawsuit is woth…seeems to me the McDonalds, Burger King, etc. will have mighty big pockets!
Meawhile, what’s the next thing to be sued?:eek:
I have a long list of people to sue for emotional damage. To name a few:
- My parents, except they’re dead, though my father’s estate hasn’t been liquidated yet, so maybe I’ll sue my sister, his executor.
- The first girl who turned me down for a date.
- The last woman who turned me down for a date.
- My supervisor at my previous job.
In terms of ACTUAL damages, let’s see:
- The US gubbermint, 'cause they have the deepest pockets, and they have not solved many problems that continue to stint my growth.
- The state of Wisconsin, because I’m in its jurisdiction so it’s convenient, and because I have grown fat with cheese and milk.
- Manufacturers of all bras with hooks on the rear rather than front.
- Sears, because some stuff I bought from them broke.
- The United Nations, which has failed miserably at world peace, and thus increased my risks when travelling internationally.
