Yes I know, pothos are supposed to be very hardy, fairly tolerant of a wide range of conditions and abuse. Somehow I’ve managed to break the poor things down anyway.
I have two plants in separate pots, one plastic and one glazed terra cotta. I took over their care from a friend last September, and they were doing just fine on the watering schedule I was using until December, when their leaves started going limp and curling (but not yellowing or dropping off). I thought that maybe the spot they were in was a bit too dark, so I moved them closer to a window; no significant change. I trimmed back the longest vines, which worked initially (in conjunction with a good watering) in getting the leaves closer to the roots perk back up, but the effects haven’t lasted (and I’ve been trimming the vines shorter and shorter). The leaves have no spots, and there are no signs of insects.
Any suggestions as to what I can try next to salvage them would be much appreciated. I don’t want to throw these plants away if I can help it, because they had some sentimental values for the friend who gave them to me. I feel bad enough as it is when he stops by and sees them slowly dying.
