Grey's Anatomy 2/15 [open spoilers]

(I don’t see a thread anywhere around… peers anxiously)

So.

You guys think they’re going to do it for real?

!!! This episode made me emotionally distraught. Distraught! I hope they don’t do it for real. They can’t, they just can’t. Do you hear me?? You can’t!

I wanted to throw things at the TV.

Great to see Denny again

I have a feeling I can see how it’ll go. But damn what a ride.

I think the little girl’s a mute, btw.

Noooooooo!!! Don’t doo ittt!!

I don’t think they’ll really kill Meredith, but they’re trying awful hard to convince us they will. I guess they could pull some stunt where they keep Meredith on the show as a ghost or spirit of some sort, watching over her friends but not seen or heard by them. But that would make it a completely different kind of show. Nah, we’ll see some kind of miraculous recovery next week.

The only proper resolution is to have her die, and then have a really big funeral “event”, and get everyone to watch. Her mother will, of course, be lucid for a truly touching scene.

Then, the next week…

ZOMBIE MEREDITH!

She rises from the grave, and is part of an unholy love tryst in which her eternally-devoted boy-toy lets her eat the brains of the people who come to him for neurosurgery. They conduct more and more ridiculous hijinks to make sure that nobody else finds out - though this doesn’t, by any means, get appreciably more ridiculous than the medical cases that find their way to Seattle Grace. Izzie screws up her next surgery, where she has to perform an in-the-field skull transplant? Cover it up! Meal for Grey! Throw the body in the sound! An airplane crashes in the street right in front of the hospital? Positive ID gets you to the operating room, Mr./Mrs. Doe gets you to Meredith’s dinner table!

Or, they’ll just do the utterly predictable…

I don’t want her to die per se, but I would have incredible respect for the writers if she did end up dying. In the middle of a television series, have they ever killed off a character that is in the title?

The next episode will probably be some dumbass, “see how everyone loves you and can’t live without you then wake up at the very end episode.” I hate those episodes.

I did like this episode though.

I was glad to see the blown-up guy. I thought that whole storyline was abandoned far too easily. It was as facile and stupid as the eight-day clinic sensation. And the Chief recovering from brain surgery in a week or two. :smack:

I might regain some respect for the storytellers if Meredith has some brain issues to overcome that last through to next season.

I can’t believe these dudes are supposed to be Doctors and they are all that stupid. Ok, you have one Doc wandering the halls looking for a lost boy, while dozens die. Another Doc is put in charge of PR.

Grey decides her skills as a babysitter are more important than saving lives- then she can’t swim or even cry out in perfectly calm water 2 feet from the shore. :dubious:

Then we have no less than 5 Docs waiting around outside of a OR while other patients need their care.

This epi was so damn fucking stupid it made we want to stop watching, but my ex was over and she loves the show. And to think I missed CSI for this.

But the little blond girl did a dead on Wednesday Addams.

Oh, just this one episode eh? I gave up at the beginning of the season, but my wife still watches it.

I don’t even think zombies could save it, honestly.

I’m not cliffhung at all. Meredith isn’t going to die even though she deserves to. Too apathetic to tread water for a minute or two? Then just die.

She’ll survive, but with no memory of how to be a doctor (or of her relationship with McDreamy). McDreamy will be in love with the Old Meredith, who is no longer his peer or his intellectual equal. She’ll convalesce for the remainder of the season and then slowly regain her memory. Or McDreamy will perform some sort of medical miracle.

She can’t die, can she?

They gave away the “she’s alive shot” when they zoomed in on the EKG showing a flat line and the “question mark” flashed twice. They will show her in Grey’s Purgatory for a little bit, show the last-ditched effort to revive her by all 5 attendings, the chief, all interns, and then the miraculous will happen…

A 747 will crash and completely destroy the hospital, killing all…

fade to Grey…

Hey, this is Seattle Grace Hospital. She’s dead, but she’ll get better. But I too think she won’t have her memory (brain damage caused by being in the water for an unknown length of time.) So she’ll get put in the same room as her mother, and they can meet each other for the first time every morning and become friends.

“You remind me of my daughter.”
“You remind me of my mother.”

Oh, and Izzie, way to make Meredith’s problem all about you. You didn’t disappoint, honey.

Oh yeah. If I had even a teeny shred of interest left in Izzy, it’s gone now. If I were George I’d have punched her in the face … repeatedly.

It would be tremendously shocking if they actually did kill the title character, but I’m leery of that actually happening. The previews for next week said it will be “devastating” so I am thinking that she will live but there will probably some dain bramage or she may be in a coma that will last for a few episodes at least.

Hmm … maybe after Izzy’s speech she runs into the room to help save Meredith by drilling bur holes in her skull and she slips and falls causing the drill to go right through her skull killing her instantly. Then they decide that Meredith needs a heart transplant so they rip Izzy’s still beating heart out of her chest and transplant it to Meredith. Unfortunately, when Meredith wakes up she is even more self-absorbed than before.

And I forgot to add that Patrick Dempsey, to me, looked silly walking up the ramp carrying Meredith. Like he was playing fireman. I’ll always see him as this skinny high school dweeb who is so pathetic that he has to rent a girlfriend instead of being a knight in shining whatever.

It would cease being GREYS Anatomy if Meredeth dies. Miraculous recovery I’m almost positive. Plus, George is being written off the show soon, at least that is what the tabs are saying. All because of the gay thing…

The fact that dead Meredith had enough life to keep her head up while being carried was a sign of a “good outcome.”

Most dead people (i.e., unable to breathe on their own and requiring CPR) would hang rather limp and, well, lifeless.

She’s only mostly dead.

The scene with Mark putting his hand on Derek’s arm was great. Justin Chambers as Alex always blows me away. I want to see some Alex backstory.

Shut up Izzie! Please let her just die already.
