I was just elected Best Mama Evar for bringing home frozen raw bison knucklebone pieces. They’re the big knobbly joint end of a leg bone, all covered in cartilage and pretty much a big block of tasty marrow.
My guys are a greyhound and a boxer, and they go through chewies really fast. Pizzles are great because they can eat the whole thing, but they only last half an hour or so. I don’t like rawhides because they turn into a big gluey wad in the stomach and can cause a blockage if the dog is as heavy a chewer as mine are. Cooked bones can splinter or break teeth, and hooves get chunked, swallowed, and upchucked. So we favor raw bones, which wear down gradually.
The guys were working on ther ‘projects’ all night and all morning too - not bad for $2.99 apiece!
