Worst thing I ever ate was by accident. It was a pickled lemon in Egypt. Their lemons are a little smaller than a golf ball and more bitter than in the US. A pickled one is extremely sour and bitter. I didn’t realize what it was and popped the whole thing in my mouth. It is used more like a condiment than actually biting into it.
It’s not necessarily really gross, but I ate a big old beetle a couple of weekends ago. I was at a friend’s house and we were playing poker, drinking beer and doing shots of Patron Silver.
Anyway, it landed on the table in front of me and I just picked it up, popped it in my mouth and crunched away.
The gross part was waking up the next morning in a hangover fog and feeling something inside my lip. It was one of the legs of the beetle. I gargled extra long with Listerine that morning and brushed my teeth twice.
