This is true. But, I was down to under 5 BBs. Not sure exactly when blinds were going up again but it would have been within a few minutes. I was going to have to make a move within the next few hands if I was going to have any shot at sticking around. If there’s action in front of me then maybe I play it differently, but holding an A and a decent kicker, the best hand I’ve seen in quite a while, folded around to me in late-middle position and short stacked, pushing in seems reasonable. I can barely justify the guy calling with A9 (although I personally wouldn’t because A9 is my own personal DEATH HAND) but there is no justification for the K5 getting involved. There’s also no justification for the A9 going all in on a bluff into a dry side pot, but that’s a separate brand of idiocy.
Oh I play both. I started looking into 5 card draw too but haven’t yet put any real money into it.
