GTLDs?

I’ve been wondering lately why GTLDs (Generic Top Level Domains) have not been implemented? We are all familiar with .com, .net, and .org (and the suffixes like .cc .md etc…). Now why don’t we have .arts, .law, .shop, .sex, .store, .news, etc… Is it a trademark issue. Will we have these implemented soon? Can the rights be bought to them?

If at first you don’t succeed you’re about average.

I think we should have a .min for ministries, for religious radio stations, missions organizations, and the like. Presently, these organizations have to use .org. Adding a .min category would leave more available domain names for other, non-ministry organizations (NCAA.org, NAACP.org, etc.)
