Guess That Comic Character!

A game for you. Here’s a badly-organised gallery of 14 comic characters. All you have to do is tell me who they are. Some are easy, some are hard, a couple are hopefully very tricky. They’re all from DC or Marvel.

You get 1 point for giving their actual name, and another for one of their “super” names, if they have one (So if Superman were there, you’d get one point for Clark Kent and one for Superman). You can’t get more than one point by posting multiple super-names, though; just one is enough. There’s a maximum of 27 points.

Spoiler box your guesses, please, people.

Only teo I don’t have are 8 and 9.

1 Alan Scott - Green Lantern.
2 Emma Frost - White Queen
3 Jennifer <something> - She-Hulk
4 Dick Grayson - Nightwing
5 Victor von Doom - Doctor Doom (I THINK it’s 616. If it’s Ultimate he’s Victor van Damme)
6 Kara Zor-L/Karen Starr - Power Girl
7 Peter Parker/Jessica Drew - Ultimate Spider-Woman
8
9
10 Layla Miller - I don’t think she has a codename.
11 No civilian name - Midnighter
12 Amon Tomaz - Osiris
13 Kitty Pryde - Ultimate Spider-Girl
14 Jean-Paul Valley - Azrael

1. Green Lantern. Alan something. Alan Scott?
2. Argh! I totally know this one! She used to be an enemy of the X-Men, then joined them. She’s a powerful psychic, who can turn her body into living diamond. She had a nosejob when she was sixteen, f’rchrissake! What the fuck is her name?!
3. She-Hulk.
4. Dick Grayson: Nightwing.
5. Doctor Victor von Doom, or just Dr. Doom.
6. Power Girl. Is she still Kara-El?
7. I’m gonna guess that’s Spider Woman.
8. No clue.
9. Dazzler?
10. No clue.
11. Midnighter. I wasn’t aware that his real name had ever been revealed.
12. No clue.
14. Ditto.
15. Also ditto.

Made a miscalculation - it’s actually only 26 maximum points.

And speaking of which, i’m going to be very strict on points and not count Tengu’s no.3 and Miller’s no. 6 given names, giving them 21 and 10 points respectively.

Can I get that 22nd point for finally remembering #3’s last name is Walters? (I swear I didn’t cheat and look it up.)

Sure! But remember, if I find out you did look it up, I know a good lawyer. :stuck_out_tongue:

1. Green Lantern (Alan Scott)
2. The White Queen (Emma Frost)
3. She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters)
4. Nightwing (Dick Grayson)
5. Dr. Victor von Doom (Dr. Doom)
6. Kara Zor-L; Karen Starr; She Of The Boobs (Power Girl)
7. Jessica Drew (Ultimate Spider-Woman) (clone of Peter Parker)
8. Scott Summers (Cyclops)
9. Karolina Dean (Lucy in the Sky)
10. Layla Miller (She knows stuff. I don’t think she has a code-name.)
11. The Midnighter (real name unknown)
12. No clue.
13. Kitty Pryde (Ultimate Spider-Girl)
14. No clue.

And VampyChick gets 22! I’m giving you no. 7, because even though her name really is Peter Parker since she has his memories, you put that in too. And you’re the first one to get no. 8! Probably the most difficult one.

Most of them are pretty obvious. I for sure know all of them except 9, 10, 12, & 14, and I have a guess at #12.

This is probably wrong but is it Wonder Man?

Also, #11 just had an awesome debut issue by Garth Ennis! I’m really excited about this series.

After further musing, I’m gonna go ahead and say I’m wrong on my guess for #12 and bet that it’s some DC character that I don’t know. I was never as familiar with DC’s minor characters as I am with Marvel’s.

It’s not Wonder Man, but he is from Marvel.
1. Alan Scott? One of the Green Lanterns, at least, and I think he goes by Sentinel now.
  2. Emma Frost, the White Queen
  3. Jennifer Walters, She-Hulk
  4. Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing
  5. Dr. Doom aka Victor von Doom
  6. I think that’s Power Girl? This started out so easy…
  7. Is that one of the Spider-Women? There were like 4 of them, it might be Mattie What’s-her-name, but it’s not Julia Carpenter or Jessica Drew.
  8. I’m tapped out here. Hit my comic character ID limit…
    10-13) stares blankly
  9. Dr. Fate?
I’m gonna post this, and go read everyone else’s posts now.

I haven’t seen anyone else’s answers yet:

1: Alan Scott, GHreen Lantern, Sentinel
2: Emma Frost, White Queen
3: Jennifer Walters, She-Hulk
4: Dick Grayson, Nightwing
5: Victor Von Doom, Dr. Doom
6: Kara Zor-El, Karen Starr, Power Girl
7: Kitty Pryde, Ultimate Shadowcat
8: Scott Summers, Cyclops
9: Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld
10: Maxine Baker, Animal Girl
11: Midnighter
12: Osiris
13: Janet Van Dyne, Ultimate Wasp
14: Jean-Paul Valley, Azrael: Agent of the Bat

He stopped using the name Sentenel a few years back, and went back to Green Lantern and his original costume. Thankfully. Sentenel wasn’t a bad name, but the costume was horrible.

Kat’s got 12, and **Krokodil ** has 19.

Between you you’ve got all of them now. I may put together another one… unless someone else would care to?

Hmm, I looked at the spoiler and I still don’t know who #12 is. I seem to recall a character from America’s Best Comics by that name, but not Marvel. What title/story is he from?

Number 12 is Osiris, recently introduced in 52. He’s Black Adam’s wife Isis’s brother, who’d gone missing and was found being as a slave tortured by Intergang. To save his life, Black Adam shared some of his power with him. He’s to Black Adam what Captain Marvel Jnr. is to Captain Marvel, essentially, especially considering that without his powers it’s probable he can’t walk.

52 is a DC title

So it is. :smack: And I have a few issues of it right here, too, so i’ve got no excuse for that. Sorry to mislead you.

Maybe you were confused because Black Adam is a former Captain Marvel/Marvel Family villain, and he, Isis, and Osiris, are referred to as the Black Marvel Family.
