Guess the event from the date and place

Continuing the discussion from Anyone remember a Trivia game: Guess the event from the date and place?:

The rules are simple. I name a date and an approximate location, you guess what famous event occurred there and then. Whoever guesses correctly gets to provide the next date and place. (And no looking up the dates online.)

I’ll give an easy one as an example to start us off;

November 22nd, 1963, Dallas, TX

JfK getting shot.

Correct! Now you provide a date and place.

August 9, 1969, California.

The Manson family murders.

August 15, 1965, Queens, New York

Beatles concert!

Nov. 18, 1978 Guyana

Jonestown Massacre.

March 15, 44 BC, Rome

Caesar killed!

Aug. 16, 1987 global

Astrological Harmonic Convergence

September 17, 1787, Philadelphia, PA

First Constitutional Convention (name?), which resulted in the US Constitution.

October 8, 1871, in what was then Oconto County, WI

-“BB”-

which was signed on Sept. 17, 1787.

One of the Great Fires of 1871?
(I’ll wait for confirmation)

Actually the deadliest wildfire in US history, known as the Great Peshtigo Fire. No actual death count was determined, but consensus is that between 1500 and 2500 people lost their lives. Not many people know about this, though, because it was overshadowed by another conflagration which occured that same day in a lakefront town further south called Chisago, Showago, Chicago, or something like that…

You have the conn, Mr. Fudd.

-“BB”-

October 11-12, 1975, New York, NY

The series premiere of SNL?

Assuming I’m correct;

May 25, 1977, USA

Assuming Smapti was correct:

The premier of Star Wars.

Assuming I’m correct:

August 21, 1863, Lawrence, Kansas

You are. Carry on.
