What does the designation ‘Guest’ mean? How would one become a Guest here?
The “Guest” designation seems to be associated with posts made prior to the late-April move from UBB to vB. My post count remains somewhat true (we all lost some in one of the UBB upgrades), but I can still find myself listed as Guest in some older threads.
It’s a sort of a bureaucratic backwater, methinks.

The designation is meaningless, just one of the little glitches going from system to system.
Most often when you see “guest” it’s for a screen name that has been deactivated or removed from the database.
