On the music DVD Hell Freezes Over, on the Learn to be Still track, I hear this guitar “noise” repeatedly, in nearly line (not being a music reader, I can’t relate its occurence to bars). I can only describe it as a “whew” with tonality, which I associate with moving the upper finger along the string while it’s still vibrating.
Why? I don’t hear this on any of the other tracks. Is there something inherently difficult in the progression of chords that I don’t get? Don Henly mentions, before they begin playing it, that they had just written it an hour before. Is this a matter of someone playing catchup? I can’t tell whose guitar is making it.
