Gukumatz, a word, please.

Then you are disagreeing with reality because that is the exact reason he gave for issueing a note instead of a warning.

Bolding mine.

And you just lost the thread. “Circling the wagons” is one of those arguments that is an immediate loss in my book. So is “butthurt”. (Sorry, Oakminster.)

I, personally, use regular sized font for footnotes, because I like to actually be able to read footnotes. I offset them with asterisks or superscript numbers and put them at the bottom of the thread like this.*

  • See, it’s obvious it’s a footnote, but it’s legible.

Pfft. You lose the thread for using the phrase “you just lost the thread”.

Your OP was distilled butthurt.

I ain’t drinkin’ any of that!

And the dream of a forum where posters and staff could calmly discuss their differences with civility and respect is finally realized.

Please note that I did not take the first shot.

“But Mom, he put a finger on my side of the bench first!! Moooooooom!”

You can be sure we will all give that every consideration it is due.

This has degenerated into a Bill Cosby routine.

“Will you stop TOUCHING me!?!?!”

It would be really nice if a Moderator or Admin could come in and just spell out when or if using the largest font size available is allowed.

Oakminster posted just two words in this large font, and evidently that was too much. So, is one word ok? How about even just one letter?

No such policy needs to be spelled out. Oakminster didn’t receive a warning, or even a mod note. All that happened was that a moderator reduced the size of the font he used. And that may happen again in cases where a moderator decides that the font size was a problem. I’m afraid that people will just have to live with this vast uncertainty.

Fair enough, I suppose. Thanks for addressing my question.

Come to the MMP, you can use obnoxious fonts, underlines, italics, and sizing. In fact we encourage it.

Not fair. Then we couldn’t wish HAPPY BIRTHDAY appropriately in the MMP. Bad call sir :stuck_out_tongue:

What’s with this talk of smaller fonts? Is something broken for me, because I can’t use a font smaller than the default (what you’re reading now) without resorting to the [sub] tag workaround.

if you quote a post it gives you the option next to font to change the size. 1 is the smallest size.
sizes:
1
2
3
4
5
6
7

screen shot example

Exactly. Unless something is really screwy on my end, there are no smaller sizes. [sub](Unless you do this, which isn’t really a smaller “font”)[/sub]

If the 1,2,3… etc in April’s post look like the same size to you, something is screwy.

On a completely off-topic tangent: April, your system tray takes up half the size of your screen! Holy moly!!!

I have a lot of apps. The sad part is, I use them all, mostly for work since I work from home.

/thread hijack over
