There’s a regular poster here who I don’t want to single out unless I need to show examples. (I’m formatting this post in a similar way as illustration).
They started playing with the font/size options on all of their recent posts. It’s pretty distracting and kind of breaks thread flow when suddenly entire posts are in a different font and size. I think we already have pseudo-rules about using weird colors all the time, I was wondering if maybe the same would be good for size and font.
I’m not arguing that it should really be a warnable offense (unless they’re doing it in an intentional act of defiance), just something mod-notable to keep the board uniform looking.
This wouldn’t affect other uses of the tags: using sizes or fonts occasionally to draw attention to specific points, just making entire posts in different styles.
If not, it’s not a big deal, I can live with it. I just thought I’d bring it up.

I think it depends on how disruptive and distracting it is. Personally, I probably wouldn’t consider the font/size differences in the OP to be so distracting as to deserve a mod note. However, I have told posters to stop posting in large red fonts, however, for those reasons. This is the kind of issue that we handle on a case by case basis.

I find it incredibly annoying when I’m trying to read a thread from my phone. Having to constantly readjust the screen size to decipher one post and then again to fit the next one on the screen has sent me off to another site on numerous occasions.
But I certainly don’t think it rises to the status of a warnable offense. Just maybe a casual “Hey, just so you know, this annoys some posters” for a newbie.
Personally, I find it helpful. On a message board like this, with so much discussion going on at any one time, it’s always a challenge to sort out what is worth reading from what isn’t. Whenever I see a weirdly formatted post, I know instantly that it’s one I won’t bother to read, respond to or care about. Saves time.
Of course, that might not have been the result that the typographically adventurous poster intended. If so, they should take note, as I suspect that I’m not the only one to have this reaction.

My computer was “upgraded” recently at work and in my efforts to get everything to look “normal” again, I’ve somehow gotten stuck with this and I don’t know how to fix it. I’d be grateful if anyone has advice!

As far as the thread topic, I would be happy if the mods could eliminate other font choices outside of italic and bold, so I would go even farther than OP.
OK, I almost fell on the floor laughing at that.
As for the OP… that’s one of the most “1st world problems” I have ever heard of. Are you serious? That bothers you? I actually find that font and size to be easier to read than standard.
