I’m confused. She got modded because she posted in a coloured font? Is that posted in the rules somewhere? Or was she supposed to psychically know that, I wonder?

While I’ve only seen coloured fonts used sparingly and on rare occasions, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen anyone modded for it before.

Is this a new thing? Or something I’ve just never been aware of before?

Why have it available if it’s so offensive to employ?

I think it depends on how disruptive and distracting it is. Personally, I probably wouldn’t consider the font/size differences in the OP to be so distracting as to deserve a mod note. However, I have told posters to stop posting in large red fonts, however, for those reasons. This is the kind of issue that we handle on a case by case basis.

First of all, there’s no formal rule. We just want to avoid distracting formats that may interfere with communication. So I don’t see that the analogy applies.

I’m not sure to what extent we could even do that, but nothing is really inherently problematic. As in this thread, sometimes odd fonts, colors, and type sizes can make a point or be used just for fun. As I said, odd fonts etc are mainly a problem when they interfere with communication.
