Gun magazine capacity limits

If the magazine were manufactured illegally, then they are illegal. You can disagree all you want to, but you are still wrong.

If you think otherwise, then you need a lawyer.

Go back and reread my original post:

"There are some illegal magazines out there, beware.

If you are caught with an illegal magazine(even thought the seller told you it was legal) then you are looking at prison time."

Of couse an illegal magazine is illegal Susanann, and there is no problem with the quote you just cited yourself on, but I like how you just happened to leave out the sentence that follows.

If there is a dealer that is selling illegal magazines to the public, and you buy one, to say that the buyer is looking at prison time is going over the top.

Biggest problem quote is where you are referring to Johnny L.A.'s magazine.

One more time Susanann, bullshit! Passing along misinformation in GQ by mistake is one thing, continuing to defend it, when it involves telling another poster he is in possesion of illegal goods when he isn’t is another. Knock it off!

I own a newer, post ban H&K USC .45 carbine rifle that I have LEGALLY modified to accept M3 Grease Gun magazine made in the WW2 era. The USC was developed after the 94 ban so there were never any hi-cap mags made for it by H&K or anyone else.
This conversion is pefectly legal, and I have a letter from BATFE to prove it.

The age of the gun matters not. It is the age of the mag in question at the federal level. BTW is posession of a post ban, hi-cap mag by non military/LEO truly a felony?

I should say that the Grease Gun mags hold 30 rounds.

So it looks like I’m perfectly all right if I were to get a newer gun and use an old magazine in it.

Just to make it perfectly clear, I don’t have any post-ban magazines, I don’t know where to get them if I did want one, and I am fully aware that it is illegal to possess them. I’m not planning to buy another rifle any time soon, and I already have a Beretta that came with 15-rd. mags when I bought it so I don’t need another pistol. I just wasn’t clear on using an old mag in a new gun.

Thanks.

FYI: I have an FAL (semi-auto .308 rifle), and just last year I purchased twenty 30-round magazines from Tapco. The seller did nothing illegal, and I did nothing illegal.
