“Gunnar’s Wheels” needs you, Dopers!

Wheels for everyone! Hooray!

It’s good to see such an improvement made in the lives of these companions. A net increase in the world’s joy. What a great use of limited resources!

Sad news, friends–Gunnar passed away this afternoon. He was 11 YO and change, which, I’ve been told, is really old for a Lab. He got an extra year thanks to the cart and the foundation will continue loaning out wheels as needed (they are passed the 450 mark ). Send your positive thoughts to Jason Parker and his family–he is recovering from a brown recluse spider bite he got in Texas while helping to rescue pets after Hurricane Harvey. If you Facebook, send him a “Hi!”

Thanks, again, SDMBers.

Voting is back! Keep voting for Gunnar’s Wheels.

I’ve been following on Facebook, but thought I would bump up this post this morning.

Rhiannon, thanks for the update and bumping the thread. And voting. My wife has already voted for us–she’s doing administrative stuff for the Parkers and is busy as a one-armed paper-hanger.

This will be more exciting than the last contest; we can follow the tally real-time.

Fingers crossed.

Update bump:

Got word this morning, via my wife, that Gunnar’s Wheels has given out 988 carts ! Jason hopes to crack 1,000 by Christmas (no sweat). Plenty of beasties waiting for wheels. Nobody saw this ballooning as it has. Stay tuned.

Can someone tell me where my brain went?

I was going to mention that Murphy Brown (in the new re-boot) has adopted a mobility-impaired dog with a cart. It’s not one of Gunnar’s, but that doesn’t really matter.
