Guy Gavriel Kay's River of Stars and Under Heaven

I enjoyed his mosaic duology, and was intrigued by Ars Technica’s review of River of Stars.

What I’m wonder, how nessesary is it to read Under Heaven first?

I’m not desparate for books at the moment, and I’d probably read UH first anyhow just because it is probably cheaper (being older), but I’m curious what people think.

Low spoiler thoughts on his other books are welcome as well.

Hrm. I don’t know, not having read the second one yet, but Under Heaven was pretty good, if you like Kay’s schtick. I enjoyed it. I better stick this on my “to-read” list.
