… on my left scrotal sack, about the size of a ball bearing. Gonna call my doc first thing Monday and make an appointment. No pain at all, just that little round knot. But I am aware that women worry about knots on their breasts and therefore have mammograms, and so I am worried about testicular cancer.
Is this one of the signs?

Jesus! I’m 52, in the best shape I’ve ever been (ride 75 miles a week) , and now I’m scared.
Here’s a thought–never, ever, search for symptoms on the web. You’ll find you have more deadly illnesses than you knew existed. I cured myself of that about three years ago, when I almost worried myself to death over something that turned out to be nothing.
Yeah, it could be testicular cancer, it could be a hydrocele, or it could be something else entirely. You won’t know for sure until you show your doctor your sack. No sense in risking your life over it.
My money is on a verocele - when you bust the valves in the veins that stop blood from backflowing. That’s a pretty common injury - I got one from being ridden like a bronco by some 19 foxy boxer.
There are many other possibilities besides cancer, thank goodness. Probably a good idea to get it checked out.
I had a similar thing (small bump, size of a ball bearing, hard) a couple of years ago. Was on the very top part – the epydidymis. If it’s there, my guess would be the same – an epydidymal cyst. Harmless, and for me, broke down and went away on its own after a while.
The most painful thing about that turned out to be the $250 or so for the damn doctor visit (was not on an HMO or anything at the time, so the visit was out of pocket).
If its white, like a big zit in your scrotum, its a “pearl”. Don’t know the technical name for it, but that’s what my doc called it. Its totally benign, totally normal and no big deal. Shit happens.
I know this because my doc pointed one out last time I was in for a checkup.
I mentioned that sometimes that they can be tender.
He said that was normal.
I mentioned that on one or more occasion that I cut them open with a straight edged razor, and that they “popped” like big zits with mashed potatoes inside.
He said to be careful and to keep the area as clean as possible. Otherwise, they are fine.
If what you are feeliing is “deeper”, that is in your nuts or the various things in your sac, then definately look further.
But if its just a big “nut sac zit”, pop it, clean it, and move on.
It’s not anything that can be “popped”, and it lies “internal” and at the bottom part of the scrotum. Like W and it’s at the first point of the W I just made.

I have had a bump the size of a pea for some years now. Doctors say it’s a hydrocele and harmless although at times it does put pressure and hurts. Quite an ice breaker too: “You want to feel my hydrocele? Sometimes it is very obvious and sometimes not so easy to feel so there’s no guarantees you’ll find it but the search will be fun.”
