Yesterday, I learned the basics for making hairpin lace. I know that several dopers crochet and several knit; but, do any make hairpin lace?
I would love to find some simple patterns and to find someone else that knows how to do this, so that I can get some tips.
Anybody?

If you hadn’t found it already there seems to be a few patterns here.
I do hairpin lace - but I’ve always had trouble finding patterns that I like or were useful. So I’m afraid I can’t help you there - but do try the internet.
(I make up my own patterns, but not everyone is comfortable with that)
I’m working on my first strip now. Once I get it long enough I am going to do a second one and try and put them together.
Any idea how long is long enough??
Broomstick, do you tie off every so often many to make counting easier? I have seen some pictures online where it looks like they put a “guide string” through the loops before they pull it off the bottom of the frame. Do you do that? Does it have a name? The only person that I know that does Hairpin lace told me she doesn’t do that.
Do you have any pictures of what you have made?
I really like the Hairpin Lace Shawl. I have this dress that it would be beautiful with. I think the hardest part is going to be finding the date to take me to the fancy restaurant where I can wear it!
