In England, when you order tea, and specify ICE tea they are shocked. At the more accomodating places they pour the hot tea right over the ice cubes melting them making the whole thing a watered down yucky mess.
::start patriotic music:: Fourscore and many years ago, our forefathers left the land of their birth. They left family, friends and the comfort of their motherland to come to America. America, where they could freely pursue the religion of their choice, vote as a man or woman of conscience, and have ice in their tea without getting strange looks. Yes, they were bold men and women. Bold enough to pursue a dream…::fade out patriotic music::
Yes.
I’ve done that sort of thing enough as it is.
Going without a fridge for a year is not a good thing.
Since the thread has gone out the window, let me pull it back by saying that IIRC, you can’t get automatic icemakers any more that make cubes of ice - it’s all the curved stuff.
Personally, I prefer no ice at all. If I just got the drink out of the fridge, it’s cold enough for me. If not, I use ice cubes (since we don’t have an automatic).
