I’m not sure if the actual embassy itself was set on fire, but there have been big protests across the Middle East this night.
Would you like them to fly to Lebanon in their special supersonic jets, and fight Hezbollah like John Wick, gunning down hundreds and killing some with a pencil?
Or maybe they ARE doing a bunch of diplomatic things, and just don’t have the common courtesy to inform you personally in an email about every detail as it transpires?
Well, they did change the travel advisory for Lebanon to: ‘Level 4: Do Not Travel’.

Looks like aid may enter Gaza soon through Egypt thanks to Biden.
Don’t be ridiculous! I think that it will be more like the movie “Missing in Action” with Chuck Norris. They’ll emerge in slow motion from the Med, with belts of 50 cal ammo criss-crossing their upper bodies, as they spray 50 cal rounds (these will be “Smart” rounds), each one of which only takes out a Hamas member.
This is the breaking news thread, please keep observations like this to other threads.
Murder a teen with a feeding tube and in a wheelchair.
There was no way the dad could run and hide with his daughter. She’s too big to carry and run.
nevermind…
How did Hamas get this much detail about each settlement? That has to be investigated and remedied. I expect a lot of security changes are already being planned and implemented ASAP.

Dedicated people. Time.
Two things Gaza has a surplus of. Like the elaborate escape plans in POW escape dramas. The people involved have very narrow goals and lots of time to ponder how to achieve them.
The war is already trying to spread. US Navy intercepted Yemen missiles before they could potentially strike Israel and widen the war.
I’d imagine, Hamas must have had one or a few people whose job it was to scout out the kibbutzes directly in person, maybe for weeks or months. Photos, mapping, observation, everything.
There would be grounds keepers, delivery drivers etc. going in and out of the kibbutzes. Only takes a few spies to gather intel.
The President will be on tv tonight explaining US involvement defending Israel. It’s pretty unusual for our military to intervene and shoot down missles. I understand the US is trying to stop outside provocations that could widen the conflict.
I’ll be interesting to hear the President tonight.
Question for the people paying closer attention than me.
Based on the latest reporting and the photographs I’ve seen, it seems most likely that Israel was not responsible for the explosion at the hospital. The lack of a blast crater, the minimal amount of structural damage to the hospital building itself and the lack of pock marks due to fragmentation all suggest this was not a modern high explosive which is what Israel would assuredly use for an airstrike or cruise missile attack.
However, the news still seems to be talking about this as if it’s a major event in terms of loss of life. The term has consistently been hundreds of casualties (estimates I’ve seen in the 300-500 range). Is this relatively reliable information?
The photos of the burned-out cars in the parking lot next to the hospital don’t seem to jibe with the idea of “hundreds” dead or seriously injured. Unless there was a mass gathering in the parking lot, I just don’t know how that’s likely based on the damage I’ve seen. What’s does the best information we have now suggest is true? Are the casualty reports just as dubious as the bomb strike information?
Here’s the US intelligence assessment, for what it’s worth:
Thanks. I have a suspicion that this number is still inflated, or else the photos of the damage are incomplete. Certainly 100 people could be killed if a bunch of rocket fuel immolated them while gathered outside, but fortunately we haven’t seen any phots of that carnage.
Well, you may not have.
