Hamas attacks Israel, October 2023

Hamas is the governing body of the region. Morally and legally they should be providing the people they represent with the necessary aid to sustain them in a war they started.

More to the point, the World should be asking why this isn’t happening.

I think you want the other thread, these posts are not breaking news.

Israel targets Hamas’s labyrinth of tunnels under Gaza

Yup, this thread is for news, not for speculations and broader questions.

Acknowledged with a news article.

Despite their reluctance to accept Gazans into Egypt, are they complicit with tunnel entrances in Egypt?

The majority of the Gazan population has now been displaced (CNN):

Being at war sucks. Being at war in a war zone is worse than being at war outside a war zone, whatever side you are on.

United Nations warns that Palestinian civilians face starvation:

EDIT-It might better fit in the discussion thread.

50 hostages being released:

80% of Israelis say Netanyahu is to blame. He needs to go, preferably to jail.

Israel continues to try and deal with misinformation while showing respect to the dead:

Most of the footage came from go-pros worn by the terrorists as they slaughtered Israeli civilians.

It is always shocking to see the evil depths to which human beings will sink.

CNN is only reporting two hostages released.

An 85 and 83 year old - both founding members of one of the Kibbutzim that was hit. Their husbands are still in captivity, potentially as a way to keep them from talking to the media (the earlier hostages also still have family in Gaza, from what I saw reported).

It fell through:

Yeah. I read that. Thanks for posting it.

CNN don’t know everything.

U.S. readies plans for mass evacuations if Gaza war escalates

The Biden administration is preparing for the possibility that hundreds of thousands of American citizens will require evacuation from the Middle East if the bloodshed in Gaza cannot be contained, according to four officials familiar with the U.S. government’s contingency planning.

Statement by President Barack Obama on Israel and Gaza:

Trump’s statement on the attack:

“Two nights ago I read all of Biden’s security people … they said, ‘Gee, I hope Hezbollah doesn’t attack from the north, because that’s the most vulnerable spot.’ I said, ‘Wait a minute. You know, Hezbollah is very smart.’ They’re all very smart,” Trump said, going on to add that “the press doesn’t like when” he says things like that, as he has when praising the effectiveness of China’s authoritarian President Xi Jinping.

Trump swiped at two top Israeli officials, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with whom Trump once appeared to be close.

“They [Israel] have a national defense minister … if you listen to this jerk, you would attack from the north because he said that’s our weak spot,” Trump said.
