Are there many life outcomes or social characteristics associated with handedness? I was watching Sherlock Holmes and somewhere in the back of my head came forward the observation that many friends from college and familymembers who are in the psychology or psychiatry professions are lefties. I see some citations on wikipedia about this topic where some researchers say that artists are more likely to be left handed, and I guess this is an area that is difficult to study (sufficient data to have statistical power), but any research leads would be interesting.
