Today is the 21st of April - the date of the founding of Rome!
Today is often called AUC Day, because it stands for “ab urbe condita”, which means “from the founding of the city (Rome)” in 753 BC.
That means that today is 2757 years after Rome was founding by Romulus and Remus. It’s really amazing that the most important civilization in western history and in many ways the founding of western civilization doesn’t even seem that long ago. Latin language lives on in the most widely-spoken languages in the planet, Roman medicine, engineering advances, style of combat, the Roman system of Law and government which is modeled in all western nations, especially in our American constitution and Senate.
WHOO HOOOO!!! LET’S ALL GET NAKEEED!!!
And now something only the Latin kids will get:
**TOGAM! TOGAM! TOGAM! **
