Unlike Christmas, whose name was changes from “Yule” and “Saturnalia”, etc. “Easter” is the original pagan godess name for the rites of spring.

Helpful household hint: Using a color printer, I made small copies of the Onion’s Easter cards. Then I carefully cut them out, leaving a 5 inch strip along the bottom. By inserting tap A into slot B, I created charming little Easter egg holders. They were a big hit with the family at Easter dinner.
