I regret to inform you that I am in my sunset days here on the Straight Dope message board. I’ve enjoyed the hell out of this place and all of you in the CCC forum, but I’ve just had added responsibilities at work (not to mention a pesky family that expects me to do things like look away from the monitor during dinner. Jesus, people). On the side I’ve been trying to conquer the spread of communicable diseases in the Western World, and petty as this may sound, I guess I’m going to have to give that priority for the time being. Please keep in touch - I’d love to hear from you. And thanks again to Arnold for all the links.
Hasta luego y que viva la vida loca.
Well, I for one am sorry to see you go, though I understand how other things have priority. I just hope that leaving your moderator job won’t mean the end of your informative posts on disease transmission. They do a wonderful job in the cause of fighting ignorance. If so, they were great while they lasted.
Anyway, it was a pleasure to be moderated by you. Go wipe out a virus for me, okay.
Bill
P.S. At least this’ll give Dex a little more action. It seemed like he was the Maytag repairman waiting there in Comments in Mailbag Answers.
Good luck with the virus-fighting, Jill! Sorry to see you go, and I hope you’ll still have time to read and post to the board. You’ve been a wonderful source of info, especially about AIDS. And you’ve been a great Board Goddess!
Happy days till we see you again!
(Psst! Don’t go out in the back yard - something bad happened to Nickrz out there!)
Jill, your departure will be a great loss for the SDMB community.
Now to whom will we address our AIDS-related questions?
CKDextHavn will have a tough burden to shoulder. I hope your family appreciates your sacrifice. Good luck with those pesky germs, and come by from time to time to say hi!
Please post a link to the column you’re discussing. The new moderator might move the thread.
Well, the end of another era. You’ll come back after you’ve cured all the diseases, won’t you? We should be able to get by without you for a couple of months while you wrap that up.
