In the immortal words of Gigli Gobble Gobble*
Us 11/27 b-days are a rarity. ahem, BF hint here people
Happy Birthday!
And since tomorrow is National Shopping Day, a Happy B-Day shout out to Jaade.
WHAT?!?!?!
Why did no one TELL me?
It’s clearly because we don’t like you, and prefer you to be out of the loop.
Happy birthday to the cauliflower-spitting queen, and to Shirley!
Aargh! Figured you’d have known, JC. :smack:
Happy Birthday!
(Hope it’s not pumpkin cake-unless you like that. Then I hope it is)
Happy B.D. Too late to make you a cake, but I can throw together a Thansgiving turkey scale model made from an apple, raisins, an olive[with pimento, will use gloves for this part] and many toothpicks. It’s not the gift, it’s the thought that counts.
Think bigger, I hear someone cry.
Well, since none of you asked, I thought I would share the Shirley Extravaganza News, brought to you by Ex-lax.
After 37 years of whining about how I hate turkey and how my older brothers always got a custom made to order birthday dinner prepared by mom, I finally got to pick what I wanted for dinner. Wore her down, I guess.
Guess what we ate for Thanksgiving?
Chinese.
I was very happy.
It was such a stress free holiday ( except for the part where I removed the chair from behind my 77 year old mother so she wouldn’t trip over it and she decided to sit down instead and went sprawling backwards. I told her that *if she broke a hip that we’d have to put her down right then and there on my birthday and that would traumatize me greatly *, but being the tough old goat, she was unphased and decided that I was trying to kill her, so hilarity ensued after that, as these things happen.) and for my birthday I received for my larger van, one of those plug in the dashboard coolers/cup holders thingies. Which, given the fact that I was born under a crappy star for gift receiving, I was really impressed. Oh, and the token, " Irish Princess" T-shirt which is something like the 97th year running to get that.
I also made my birthday cake ( a big chocolate chip cookie) that every one liked and my 9 year old nephew played his only song that he knows on the piano for me, a funeral dirge. Quite funny.
Happy TurkeyDay birfday to one of my favorite posters! Glad to hear your mom’s hip and goatness are ok, too! Sounds like you really had a great day and I hope you have 97 more, complete with IP t-shirts.
Thanks Sylkyn!
Wow, thanks Shirley! I had a fantastic birthday, I’m glad to hear yours went well. We Turkey Day birthdays often have strange birthdays (if I judge by my own experience…)
~J
Happy birthday to the Turkey Babies!
Robin
Thanks all - I’ve never had my very own thread before!
I just got back from my birthday trip, 5 days in Sin City with my sis (the lovely and talented Woozle) and WOW. Just wow.
Brief recap:
Had foie gras instead of turkey;
got a new tattoo (well, worked on an existing one)
got to hear the Bellagio fountains go off 427 times (rough estimate)
saw cheezy lounge music
only lost $50 gambling (VERY proud of this one)
got my first facial at the spa (this one is addictive)
All in all, a very nice way to turn 30. Thanks for the good wishes, all!

Cheezy lounge music on your birthday! Where do I sign up! Sounds fun!
Well, first you call Vegas a year in advance, and then you give the nice lady on the phone ALL your money, even the penny collection you started when you were 12.
Boy was it worth it, though!
