There’s a movie coming out called “Hardcore” that stems from a youtube video made by an independent Russian filmaker. Here’s a link to the video, and here’s a link to the trailer.
The good : the first person perspective makes tense scenes and some of the violence drastically better. The bad thing is that I feel like this film-making style would work better if our hero were more vulnerable. That’s kind of the problem with “hardcore”, as a cyborg the protagonist can do things that are superhuman and unrealistic. One of the best action movies ever filmed, Die Hard, the protagonist is human and actually bleeds. Terminator 2 is similar in that while Ahnold may be a robot, the other characters are quite human and limited and even the Terminator takes considerable battle damage throughout the film.
