62 Pontiac Catalina. Same as my very first car way back in 1972. Mine was a convertible though, wish I still had it.
He’s got awesome slippers on!
He’s also one of the reasons why I became fascinated with Australia and its history. Come on, would you ever hear something like “George Bush went swimming and now we can’t find him”? Heck no.
Thanks guys - I find it strange enough to see the Prime Minister fossicking around in his boot for the photo. I couldn’t even tell you if our current prime minister (or opposition leader) even has a drivers licence, let alone owns a cool car.
All the current PM would have in his boot would be a large collection of Vodafone tracksuits.
And for those of you mystified that we managed to let a PM drown, we then went and named a municipal swimming pool after him.
And, of course, there’s always the Harold E Holt naval base in Exmouth, WA (that’s Western Australia, close to Ningaloo Reef). I stayed there a few years ago in a bit that has been converted into a hotel.
