Do you think it would be possible to find persons who’s ancestors were rescued by Tubman?
I don’t see why not. This book by William Still, a conductor on the railroad who kept extensive records, tells the stories of many of the rescued slaves, with names, dates and locations, and some of the narratives specifically include the role that Tubman played in the rescue. I’m sure there are families that can trace their ancestry back to some of these people, and that genealogical records could be used to find others.
Author and Underground Railroad expert Charles Blockson is descended from a slave mentioned in Still’s book, although there is no specific mention of Tubman in his narrative.
