Harry Reid on MTP: Most productive Congress ever?!

While watching Meet the Press this past Sunday, I saw Harry Reid being interviewed by David Gregory. In it, Reid proclaimed that last year’s Congress was “the most productive Congress in the history of Congress”. :dubious:

Now how in the world could he say such a thing? At every turn I hear about the “do nothing Congress” and how the approval rating for Congress is at all-time lows, etc. Everything just goes to die in the Senate and with the Tea Party controlled House, nothing gets passed there either. How can Harry Reid reconcile his remarks with the reality of the Congress?

You’re conflating last year’s Congress and last Congress. He referred to the productivity of the 111th Congress, which was indeed the most productive in many decades.
