Bahaha! Bahaha! Oh, man! Bahaha!
Yeah, at any cost excepting proper attribution of her sources. You’d think they’d teach her to cite properly, or at least to be cleverer about lifting whole passages of text if they really wanted her to succeed.
It frees up a place at Harvard for an honest student.
May I ask: “Disinvited” means “not welcome to attend; barred”, right? Or, does it mean “You can attend, but you won’t like it”?
Oo! I LIKE that idea!
“Yes, come to Harvard. We’ll have a very special program… just for you… Muah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!”
I hope this is the last we hear of her/them. If they sue anybody else over this – or over her probable future college application rejections – they need to be heavily fined or something. What nasty people.
Since Nelson Muntz has been taken, may I offer Charles Montgomery Burns?
“Ex-cellent!”
Now that she’s been disgraced; how long till she writes a book like that newspaper guy Jayson whatever?
It sounds to me like daddy the judge needs to see some disciplinary action himself over this. Do legal ethics really look kindly on a Superior Court judge filing multiple frivoulous lawsuits?
Oh, wait :smack: what am I saying - these are LAWYERS we’re talking about here…
Sheesh. I can be so dumb sometimes.
And so, kids, we learn about a concept called “picking your battles”… Since it’s likely that w/o the lawsuit’s brighter spotlight the plagiarism issue would have come out much later if at all, and probably been unnoted beyond that paper itself.
Sole valedictorianship in HS and a regular column in some county paper, vs. Harvard. Talk about your cost-benefit curves.
It’s probably not too late for her to apply to the local community college.
There’s some good programs available in community colleges. I’m thinking Certified Nurse’s Assistant. They clean bedpans and give patients sponge baths.
Plus, I know where there’s an opening. The Texas woman who let the guy die in her windshield was a CNA. This kid would be a PERFECT replacement.
Paging andygirl.
Not even. At this rate, if she continues with the lawsuits and the ensuing scorn, she’ll be a short order cook for truckers in a few years.
As much as my initial reaction was to join in the “You’re a Stupid Fucking Bitch and You Deserve Everything You Get” chorus, I am starting to (sort of) feel sorry for the schmuck.
This will follow her around for the rest of her life, and it seems a shame that at age 18 she has screwed everything up for her future. It’d be different if she was 30 or 40 with a few years of worldly experience under her belt, but at such a tender age, it just strikes me as incredibly sad that ONE (OK, MAJOR) stuff-up is going to ruin her whole life.
Just my 2 bobs worth, FWIW.
The Scarlet ‘P’.
Hello, Hester. Love the dress.
buck, (you don’t mind if I call you that, do you?) she’ll be forgotten in a year or two, if she keeps her nose down.
Thanks for the warning. I’ll alert my Owner/Operator sister and brother-in-law.
I think that I shall laugh my ass off now.
Ya know, I am giggling with glee over this. Silly idiot brought this on herself. This is what happens when you’re an attention whore. Sure, you get the goodies, but when you screw up, everyone knows it.
The other reason I am laughing my ass off is because I attended the first of two orientation sessions at school Tuesday. Now, Shippensburg University isn’t the fancy-pants school Harvard is. All the same, I got to listen to two different officials – the provost and the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences – spend a lot of time reminding us that plagiarism is not a good idea. It’ll get you booted out of school, and good luck applying anywhere else.
However, I’m sure the Community College class of '05 will welcome her with open arms.
