Has Any MLB Team Ever Had Two Rookies of the Year on the Same Roster?

The Buccaneers (briefly) had two at the same position:1997 NFC Offensive Rookie of the Year Warrick Dunn spelling 2005 NFC Offensive Rookie of the Year Cadillac Williams.

On the defensive side, the Texans have DeMeco Ryans (2006) and Bryan Cushing (2009) playing middle and outside linebacker.

NBA: Pat Ewing (1986) and Mark Jackson (1988) played together for the Knicks.

Ah, I was young in 97 and my memory was that was the story that was going around at the time. I did a quick check of Wikipedia and it backed me up (but without citation).

The Mets had both Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry for some time.

Indeed, Darryl Strawberry was a teammate of many other Rookies of the Year. He played with:

With the Mets: Dwight Gooden (1984, NL) Tom Seaver (1967, NL) Alfredo Griffin (1979, AL)

With the Dodgers: Eddie Murray (1977, AL) Eric Karros (1992, NL)

With the Yankees: Derek Jeter (1996, AL) Chuck Knoblauch (1991, AL)

Gotcha. I just changed the wiki page - thanks!

Ewing also played with Larry Johnson (1991) on the Knicks.

Lew Alcindor (1969) played with Oscar Robertson (1960) on the Bucks and then Bob McAdoo (1972) and Jamaal Wilkes (1974) on the Lakers.

It has happened a few times in hockey.

Sergei Makarov -Calgary 1990, Joe Nieuwendyk -Calgary 1988 and Gary Suter - Calgary 1986 all played together. There are other incidents as well and it was quite common back in the six team era.

Strawberry and Griffin were both with the Dodgers in '91, too. And since Strawberry was with the team in 1993 he would’ve played a few games with Mike Piazza.

I missed Strawberry’s 1992 and 1993 seasons; he was on those teams with Piazza AND Eric Karros.

Now we can use wiki to settle that argument.
