Has anybody had LASIK?

Has anybody here had LASIK? I’m interested in it. Do you think it is just another thing that 10 years from now they are going to be finding out that everybody who had it went blind or had some other long-term damage?

My dad has a friend who is the head of opthamology at a large hospital. About five years ago my Dad asked him about the then current laser surgery. They Doctor said he wouldn’t have it done on himself because they don’t know the long-term effects.

What do you think?
