To answer your question, virtually every single Cat. 2 cyclist and above that I know takes a bunch of supplements and absolutely swear by them, in addition to getting as much sleep as humanly possible and any other number of important recovery strategies.
The important thing to remember is that taking a bunch of vitamins without an exercise regimen will probably do nothing for you beyond turn your pee strange colors. And you don’t need obscene amounts of wierd vitamins and minerals that you have never heard of before. But I belive that they can certainly allow you to recover easier and more completely in addition to a number of rounded food sources.
