Has anybody tried the short ribs a Panda Express yet?

I’ve been seeing these things on the TV lately. I was thinking about doing Panda Express today or tomorrow.

So, are they any good? (I don’t want to waste my cheat day on crappy food. :))

Well, it is Panda Express.

However, I recall that for cheap American-style Chinese food, Panda Express was tasty. I can’t imagine they’d screw up short ribs too badly.

It’s Panda Express. So… no.

I’m going to go out on a limb and predict they taste exactly like everything else on the menu: hypersweet and a little bit soggy.

I’ve had them and they are ok- a nice change but not as good as Chinese takeout ribs. The sauce to me is darker than that bright red/pink old school sauce which IMHO is better and the ribs could use a tad more fat. Edited to add- our local Panda is not always good at executing meats- it could be them. Some days if I get Angus Steak, it’s grilled nice with a slight char but usually it resembles microwaved beef with no char at all.

I like Panda Express, but I found the ribs disappointing. They were kind of chewy and the sauce was really dark and I didn’t like the taste.

I like it and I’m Chinese, I went there specifically to try it. The meat is fall-off-the-bone tender and yes, its got a sweet glaze on it. To me, they are great, but then I like a lot of food and I’m not picky. Would buy again.

Difference between these and ones from actual Chinese restaurants is the real ones are shorter and not cut as long, they are more taut and chewy, and often you don’t just get bone and meat but cartilage. The one from Panda had no cartilage, like they specifically screened that out. I like chewing on the cartilage
